Social Assistance Appeal Committees
Overview
The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking individuals to join its regional Social Assistance Appeal Committees for three-year terms.
The six regional Committees hear appeals from Income Assistance clients who disagree with a decision made by program staff. The Committees operate under the authority of the Social Assistance Act and may uphold, reverse, or modify a decision.
Current vacancies:
- Dehcho
- North Slave
- Sahtu
- Tłı̨chǫ
Depending on the region, committee members work approximately 2-4 hours a month and are paid an honorarium.

Applications are currently being accepted.
Deadline
The deadline to apply is August 29, 2024. Applications will be accepted until all vacancies have been filled.
