As set out in the Northwest Territories (NWT) Post-Secondary Strategic Framework 2019-2029, the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is responsible for holding post-secondary institutions accountable for meeting territorial standards and following best practices.

The vision for the territory’s post-secondary education system is:

“Every resident of the Northwest Territories has an equitable opportunity to reach their full potential by obtaining a post-secondary education from institutions that are student-centered, accessible, high quality, relevant and accountable.”
