Overview

Flexible Funding provides funding to licensed centre-based programs, empowering them to make program-level decisions that align with their unique needs, such as mortgage, rent, utilities, wages, or professional fees.

This funding is intended to supplement other revenue sources earned by centre-based programs.

The Government of the Northwest Territories does not operate licensed early learning and child care programs.

Available Funding

This funding is calculated based on the number of spaces the program is licensed for.

Programs licensed exclusively for out-of-school spaces receive 50% of the funding.

If a program has consistently low attendance, they may receive 50% of the funding. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis, as needed.

Deadline

There is no deadline for this funding.

Eligibility

Licensed centre-based early learning and child care facilities are eligible for this funding. 

How to apply

Licensed centre-based programs automatically receive this funding. They do not need to apply as eligible funding amounts are calculated based on annual reporting or during licensing.
