Employee Training Program
Overview
This program offers funding to employers to offset the cost of training employees.
Training includes employee up-skilling due to economic, technological or organizational change. It may also be used to support individuals who are under-employed, or employed and in need of training to maintain or move to a different or better job.
This program is not intended for employees to maintain professional status, certification or designation or assist with personal development skills, such as self-awareness, self-esteem, emotional intelligence, or similar.
Funding Available
The assistance provided will not exceed a total value of $13,000 per individual client, per 52 weeks.
Deadline
There is no deadline. This program can be accessed at any time.
Eligibility
For a training initiative to be considered, training must be short-term (up to 52 weeks) and be provided by an eligible third-party training institution.
Employers must apply within three months of the individual starting the position that the employer is applying for.
At the end of the training, the employer must have a job available for the employee. Eligible training includes, but is not limited to:
- essential skills training
- technical training courses (excluding apprenticeship technical training)
- business training
- management and leadership training
- short-term certificate training
How to apply
To apply for the program contact your regional ECE service centre.
Employers need to submit an Employee Development Plan, then provide information on the trainer and the training to be supported.
The employee must complete and sign an application for service form and submit their resume.
