Overview

Five-Year Retention Funding is a retention program for licensed family day homes that have continuously operated for five or more years in the Northwest Territories.

To be considered continuously operated, program operators must have held a family day home license in the Northwest Territories for at least five years since the license was issued. This continuity is not broken by leaves such as maternity or parental leave or when studying early learning and child care.

Available Funding

Licensed family day homes will receive $2,500/year on their five-year anniversary of continuous operation. For example, a family day home licensed in January 2020 will receive $2,500/year starting in January 2025 and every January after that until it closes.

Deadline

There is no deadline for this funding.

Eligibility

  • Licensed family day homes that have operated continuously for five years.

How to apply

Licensed family day homes do not need to apply for this funding. It will automatically be provided after they complete their fifth year of continuous operation.
