NWT licensed day homes and day cares

Overview

The Department of Education, Culture and Employment is responsible for licensing child day care facilities under the Northwest Territories Child Day Care Act and Standards Regulations. The act and regulations identify minimum standards for health and safety, quality of care, instruction and supervision of children in licensed child care programs.

In order to receive a child day care facility licence, a program must meet the requirements stated in the act and regulations. To monitor compliance, licensing inspections must occur at each facility at least once a year.

Visit the Child Care Inspection and Information page to find and view information about licensed day homes and day cares in the NWT, including their contact information.
