Anyone proposing to conduct research within the NWT is expected to follow ethical principles throughout all stages of a research project. You are advised to review one or more of the following resources for more information:

Research involving human subjects is required to have approval by an accredited Research Ethics Board or Institutional Review Board before a licence can be issued or research can begin. Many applicants will have already completed this process with their home institution.

The GNWT is working to ensure there are no interruptions to the licensing process due to the transfer of responsibility. This includes ensuring that ethics reviews can still occur.
