Aurora College Transformation Quarterly Report Highlights Site Selection Criteria and What’s Next

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) released the fifth Quarterly Report on the Aurora College Transformation today. The release of quarterly reports supports the GNWT’s efforts to be transparent and accountable throughout the transformation process, while also aiming to enhance NWT resident and stakeholder understanding of what the polytechnic university can mean to residents, to communities and to the territory.

Premier, Ministers in Ottawa this week to discuss NWT priorities with federal government

Premier Caroline Cochrane and members of Cabinet will be in Ottawa this week to meet with federal ministers to discuss Northwest Territories (NWT) priorities ahead of next year’s Federal budget.

The goal of the meetings is to raise awareness and build a better understanding of key NWT priorities and the benefits investment in the North will have on Canada. These priorities include the Taltson Hydro Expansion Project, Mackenzie Valley Highway, and the Aurora College transformation to a Polytechnic University.

GNWT Releases Polytechnic University Facilities Master Plan

The Polytechnic University Facilities Master Plan (FMP) was released today by the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT).

The FMP is a comprehensive document that provides Northwest Territories (NWT) residents with a picture of what the future polytechnic university will look like. It includes proposals for infrastructure enhancements and expansions at all three campuses – Inuvik, Fort Smith and Yellowknife – and across a network of community learning centres.

A Facilities Master Plan (FMP) is a strategic document to guide an organization in their long-term development and maintenance of their facilities. An FMP is data-driven and provides a high-level view of what facilities are required to meet an organization’s future needs.
