Six Steps to Getting Arts Project and Operating Funding

After you apply for an arts grant or contribution, your journey has just begun. Here are the six steps you will make when you decide to apply for arts project or operations funding from the government.

1. Find the right funding for you

Below are resources to help you determine the arts funding that is right for you.

2. Applying

Before you start your application, make sure you meet the eligibility requirements for the funding you are applying for. You can do this by reading the funding web page and application guide. They have details what you need to do. Follow the instructions on how to complete and submit your application.

We encourage you to start your application well before the deadline. 

3. Application assessment

Once you have submitted your application package, we will assess the application. 

4. Notification of results

Within 8 weeks of the application deadline, we will let you know if your project has been approved for funding. If you are granted funding, follow the instructions in the email. If you are not awarded a funding, you can contact the us to ask for feedback on your application.

5. Agreement

If you have been approved for funding, we will develop an agreement and email it to you. You will need to submit the signed the agreement to use within 4 weeks of receiving it. Once the agreement has been signed, payment will be released to you within 2-4 weeks.

6. Reporting on funding

When your project has been completed, you will need to submit your final reporting to us within 8 weeks.
