The goal of this section of the ECE website is to promote and provide resources for healthy living and wellness to our NWT teachers. Living and working in the NWT can be very rewarding, but can also be found with difficulties. The wellbeing of every member of the school is critical for improved learning and school success. 

Check below for some resources and be sure to continue to check back often for new information. 

  • NWT Education Renewal is happy to continue supporting NWT educators interested in taking courses from Mindful Schoools. Two courses are available to you this year (see below). If you are interested in taking either of these courses, please contact your board’s Inclusive Schooling (Student Support) coordinator.
    • Mindfulness Fundamentals is a six-week self-paced online class during which participants learn the basics of mindfulness. This course can simply be to develop further educator wellness or it can be an entry point to taking the next course.
    • Mindful Educator Essentials is a six-week self-paced course designed to teach educators how to integrate mindfulness into their classrooms and it includes curriculum and resources. Mindfulness Fundamentals is a prerequisite to this course.
  • Greater Good in Action Website
    • Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, in collaboration with HopeLab, launched Greater Good in Action to collect the best research-based methods for a happier, more meaningful life—and puts them at your fingertips in a format that's easy to navigate and digest.
