Call for NWT Arts Council members

Overview

The Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) is looking for individuals with a passion for the arts, culture and heritage of the NWT to join the Northwest Territories (NWT) Arts Council for a two-year term starting September 1, 2022.

NWT Arts Council members review NWT Art Council Grant applications twice a year and makes recommendations to the Minister of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) on financial awards for creative artistic projects in the visual, literary, media and performing arts, and on issues and policies associated with the arts and artists.

Deadline

The deadline to apply is September 15, 2022.

Eligibility

  • You must live in the region you apply for.
  • Experience and knowledge in the arts, culture and heritage is an asset.
  • You cannot serve as a member if you or your spouse are currently receiving funding from the NWT Arts Council.

Expected commitment

  • Term begins September 1, 2022.
  • Council Members can serve for a minimum of two years and are eligible for reappointment.
  • Attend at least two meetings a year, either in-person or by video conference.
  • Able to commit time and resources to serve on the council.
