Call for NWT Arts Council Members
Overview
The Government of the Northwest Territories is looking for individuals with a passion for the arts, culture and heritage of the NWT to join the NWT Arts Council for a two-year term starting December 1, 2024.
NWT Arts Council members review arts project grant applications twice a year and make recommendations to the Minister of Education, Culture and Employment on financial awards for creative artistic projects in the visual, literary, media and performing arts, and on issues and policies associated with the arts and artists.
Previous board experience is not needed.

Deadline
The deadline to apply is August 15, 2024.
Who can apply
- You must live in the region you apply for.
- Experience and knowledge in the arts, culture and heritage is an asset.
- You cannot serve as a member if you or your spouse are currently receiving funding from the Small and Medium Arts Project Grants.
Expected commitment
- Term begins December 1, 2024.
- Council Members can serve for a minimum of two years and are eligible for reappointment.
- Attend at least two meetings a year, either in-person or by video conference.
- Able to commit time and resources to serve on the council.
