Apply for a northern performers grant

This program provides grants for the development and promotion of Northwest Territories performing arts and for assisting NWT performing artists to participate in regional, national, and international public festivals and events.

Deadline for submissions

The deadline is March 31 each year. 

Eligibility

  • NWT performers or organizations planning a festival or an event which promotes the performing arts in the NWT and is accessible to all potential audiences.
  • Eligible costs include, but are not limited to performance fees, travel, food, accommodation and administrative or production costs not exceeding 10% of your total budget.
  • Only NWT performing artists may be supported under this program.

Application requirements

The proposal must include the following information:

  • A covering letter.
  • A funding proposal with budget breakdown (use sample template):
    • A detailed budget breakdown for the performing arts portion of your project and the overall event budget.
    • The amount of contribution requested.
    • List all funding from other sources, confirmed or expected for the performing arts portion and the overall project.
  • At least two letters of support for your event from community members or organizations.
  • Written proposal.
  • Your event goals and objectives for presenting NWT performing artists.
  • A work schedule for organizing the performing arts portion of your event.
  • A proposed schedule of performances, workshops, and arts presentations during your event.
  • A description of how you will evaluate the success of your event.
