Canada Post Service Disruption

Important Message

 

In the event of a Canada Post service disruption, the Department of Education, Culture and Employment will make every effort to provide paper cheque payments in a timely manner. Cheques will be available either through pick-up or hand delivery.

Clients, vendors, employers and applicants who have agreed to direct deposit payments will not be affected by Canada Post service disruptions.

Income Assistance

If you are receiving Income Assistance, we encourage you to sign-up for direct deposit, if you haven't already. You will need to complete and submit Form C – Applicant Direct Deposit Form

Student Financial Assistance

If you are a current student or new SFA applicant and haven’t already, we encourage you to sign up for direct deposit. You will need to complete and submit Form E – Payment and Financial Transaction Authorization

SFA clients who have not submitted their application for the winter semester, can apply online at any time. The deadline for winter applications is October 31. You can also email your completed SFA application to nwtsfa@gov.nt.ca, fax it to 1-800-661-0893, or drop it off at your nearest ECE Service Centre.

Student Financial Assistance Repayment

Student loan payments can be made online or by calling 1-800-661-0793.

Labour Market Training and Apprenticeship

If you are a current student or apprentice in an ECE labour market program, we encourage you to sign up for direct deposit. You will need to complete and submit the Vendor Direct Deposit Authorization Form.

Senior Home Heating Subsidy

If you are a recipient of Senior Home Heating Subsidy, and want to ensure that your fuel deliveries continue without disruption, you can contact your Client Services Officer in your local region.

Financial and Employee Shared Services will arrange for client and vendor payments to be picked up at Regional FESS offices with government issued identification and authorization letters for campanies and businesses.
