Employment
Assistance Services enable Career Centres to enhance career
delivery and development options at the Community level.
Program Objective
The Employment Assistance
Services (EAS) program provides funding to community partners to
offer career development services to unemployed people.
Types of EAS Activities:
Employment Assistance Services
can be tailored to the specific needs of the client and / or
community, such as:

Specific career counselling
-
Diagnostic testing services
-
Job search / job finding
clubs or job maintenance assistance
-
Group workshop delivery
-
Coordination of special
career events
Eligible Sponsors
Business, non-profit
organizations, band / tribal councils, municipal governments.
Eligible Clients
Sponsoring organizations assist
clients who are:
-
Experiencing
difficulty finding and / or keeping work and fall within
locally defined priorities
-
Have or had an
Employment Insurance claim that would have ended in the past
3-5 years
-
Active EI claimants and
income Support clients continue to receive financial
assistance while accessing EAS supports
Other financial
supports may be available depending on need.
How long is the Program?
Employment Assistance Services
are negotiable for up to 52 weeks.
